GOD is BIG!
GOD is BIG!
A Christian song from the past declared, “God is Big, God is Huge!” Most people would agree that would be part of the definition of an all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present entity. I believe God is Big! And God reaches out to people in amazing ways, inviting them to be His followers:
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed…” Genesis 26:4
Those are powerful descriptions, aren’t they? As Jesus followers, we can claim that same distinction. A question: Is God big in your life, or does He sometimes seem small? What’s the difference?
We have the capacity to learn more about God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. One day a group of people were questioning and challenging Jesus. He responded, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31,32. The Bible is where we learn about God. We can read, study, discuss, and wrestle with it. It is God’s powerful message!

- Sometimes we feel His presence and we are bold to step out in faith. Other times, we feel alone and powerless.
- Sometimes we read about Him in the Bible and are inspired and impressed. Other times we tend to “go it alone” or take our inspiration from everyday things in our everyday lives, and it falls short.

God invites us into His kingdom, His mission, and His family: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6

4832 Pondering:
- Do I think of myself as a creation of God?
- In what ways is God Big in my life? Where do I look for and count on Him to be big?
- Who can help me learn and grow in my relationship with God?
