Not In This Alone

Has there been a time in life when you felt really alone? Perhaps there was some struggle and you wished that someone would come along and give you a hand. Sometimes, it’s just a need for a friendly, supportive word of encouragement.
In these times of aloneness, it may feel like it is you against the world, and the world seems to be winning. It might be disappointment in your employment, or trouble in a valued relationship.

We find God’s word of encouragement and truth in Romans 8:31-39. I encourage you to read it now and look for the questions that God poses to us. You don’t have to have all the answers but reflect on what the passage is trying to say to you. Highlights from this passage include:
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (v31)
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (vv38-39)

A closing encouragement from the Old Testament book of Psalms and then repeated in the New Testament: “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalm 118:6 and repeated in Hebrews 13:6)
