What a week ...
Is Holy week something that should bring familiarity to our lives?
The memories of church services, family gatherings, decorations, special clothes, egg hunts and all this week has given for many years. These are some of the things that quickly run through my mind as I think of Holy Week.
However, it seems that this year and our current realities with COVID 19, social distancing and stay at home orders changed how Holy Week has felt. Perhaps on the other hand it has brought exactly the feelings it should have. The first holy week brought all sorts of emotions - joy, fear, anxiety, anger and more. Maybe this feeling of an odd Holy week, brings us to a reality of the first one.
Over the next couple of days as we wait for Easter celebrations, take the opportunity to ponder what Christ actually did on the way to the cross. How did it feel for Him and others. How does it help us focus this Holy Week?
