Impact
How do you organize important, meaningful photos from the past? Are they nicely displayed in photo albums? Well planned file folders on your computer, device or cloud storage? Or perhaps in a shoe box, somewhere?
Photos help us to look back at good times and important people. When we grieve the death of a loved one, we look at pictures and reflect how important that person was in our life. Occasionally there may be someone in our past that had significant impact, like a teacher, co-worker, or friend. We can remember specific events or comments from them that influences our lives.

How do we think about and reflect on God? What is He like? What has He done? What can we look forward to? Consider this passage from Psalm 105. You are encouraged to read it three times (it’s short).
First time, just read it straight through and get the overall theme and content.
Second time, note the verbs is each passage. Who is doing what?
Third time, read through and look for what it tells us about God. What has He done and what will He do?
Psalm 105
1 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
2 Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
3 Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4 Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
5 Remember the wonders he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
6 you his servants, the descendants of Abraham,
his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
7 He is the Lord our God;
his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He remembers his covenant forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations…
Psalm 105:1-8
Verse 2 tells us to “tell of all His wonderful acts!.” Now, more broadly, let’s reflect on, and list some of those acts that come to mind that we read about in the Old Testament (hints: parting of the Red Sea, rain on barren land, Daniel in the lion’s den, etc.)
4832 Ponderings:
Why is it good to remember?
How can focusing your thoughts on God positively affect your attitude? Your emotions?
What kind of impact can you make on the people around you? You can work on that impact well-planned like organizing photos in an album or computer file, or it can be more free form like a bunch of photos in a box. Think of examples of both approaches.
