Love to Tell the Story
Love to Tell the Story
Who in your past or present would you describe as someone who is a great speaker? This could be someone famous, someone who likes to “spin a yarn”, or someone who has a gift when reading a book to a child. Don’t be modest… you can answer “myself” if you’d like!
You may also know person who has a story or message, but the way they present it doesn’t seem very convincing. This could be a salesperson, a monotone lecturer, or perhaps an announcement over a public address system. The information is presented but it’s not very engaging or believable.

When we worship God, we seek to tell the wonderful news of who He is, what He is doing, and what He has done! We also thank Him for this! In our worship, do we seem believable or convincing? Have you ever felt like you may just be going through the motions without too much thought (I know I have!)?
Listen how the writer of this Psalm paints a picture of love, enthusiasm and vitality for His God and for his response to God:
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
3 For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
O that today you would listen to his voice! Psalm 95:1-7

Reread this passage and note the activities or actions we can employ as part of our worship.
Read one more time and note the descriptions of God. If you dare, read aloud and shout His wonderful attributes!
Using your own words, describe the truth of verse 7. How does it make you feel? How does it make you want to respond?
The Apostle Peter sends this beautiful blessing to Christians in Asia minor who were suffering, but it is certainly for us as well:
“To those who have received a faith as precious as ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”. 2 Peter 1:1,2
