2020 Vision

2020, its a phrase that means we should have perfect vision. But how are we supposed to be envisioning what lies ahead? In many ways we seem to be moving in slow motion through the pandemic, the protesters and rioters, the media's own input to our world's happenings, the presidential election which could change our very economic way of living , belief in life, what lies ahead for this and next generations ... the list is staggering.

Friends, family and neighbors either don't speak to each other (due to the social distancing or afraid to incite disagreements) , or get in arguments about the paths on who to vote for, or how best to survive this unbelievable world event in our country. Are you afraid yet?

Before microwaves, everything was slow cooking. Press 3 minutes, and , BAM, it's done. Even the slow cookers ... 6-7 hours and all is good.
The children of Israel walked in the desert 40 years. Surely, Lord, this mess we are trying to wade through could not go THAT long!! BUT I want this American mess to be gone, NOW.

Grasp on to God's help through His word.

Ps. 8:8 "It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

Is. 26:3- "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the lord, the LORD, is the rock eternal.

1 John 2:17 : "The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

Ps. 40:1-2: I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."

Where is your firm place these days? Remember the hymn "On Christ the solid rock I stand. ALL other ground is sinking sand."

Jesus came into the mess of the world. He is still present in our world now. His resurrection is a proclamation ... that BAM, it's done!! While we hear the world groaning, we wait in anticipation of what has already been won. Thank you Lord!!
