Focus Forward
Where is your focus in life? What are you doing to infuse joy into life?
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:1-2, 5
Joyful Expectations…
Sometimes retailers celebrate “Christmas in July!” The first part of July has been warmer than normal with record temperatures across the nation. This can be a mental distraction. It seems more difficult to be outside and to enjoy nature. This heat can create a sense of oppressiveness. Maybe it is this distraction that caused me to begin singing a pre-Christmas choral piece, “Joyful Expectancy.” Then it hit me…what am I focused on today? Am I choosing to sing for joy? Psalm 100 reminds us that all the earth is shouting for joy to the Lord! May each breath I take be one of joy and gladness…each thought covered in His love, mercy, and grace. His faithfulness continues to all generations, forever!
Today, I am thankful for our neighbors, thankful for a time of quiet, thankful for clouds on these very warm days, but I choose to be thankful for the long, warm days of summer. All of this is an opportunity to sing for joy and take in each breath with joyful expectancy of what today will bring!
Psalm 100 reminds us to pass this joy on to someone else…God is good…His faithfulness is to all generations! His love endures forever!
4832 Ponder…
What is bringing you joy today? Is there currently a cloud in your life? Can you look for and choose to see a silver lining?

It is difficult somedays in the midst of social distancing to "feel" connected. Over the past several days we have enjoyed additional connections with family. It is a reminder of the importance of relationship. My heart continues to sing with joy because of these connections. Now...to share this with others.
