So many voices ....

Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. - 1 Samuel 3:9

So many voices ... that is what we can all hear, witness and see! How do you choose what and to whom to listen? The goal here isn't to sway you in what you are listening to, but rather focus you.

This last week, I heard a passionate message on trying to focus....to focus on God's Word to and for us and to let that be our focus. There are voices from social media platforms, media, blogs and radio. They all may be well-intentioned, but they are focused on a specific platform of some type.

SO HOW DO WE KNOW HOW TO LISTEN ... With so many voices?

As many have learned in different ways,  God's Word is always true ... that is what 4832 is all about.   Jesus said, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" - John 8:32. Jesus is the Way, Truth, the Life -  “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6. Jesus teaches us and is the voice we all should be hearing.

But let's be honest ... there have been many who have taken God's Word and taught, stretched and prescribed life's ways ... without pointing to Jesus. There have been times when people have used God's Word to support their point, without actually reading all the truth that comes in the whole passage or all of God's Word. What we need to do with those teachings is let God's Word answer the questions we have about them and interpret them correctly.

It is the same thing we need to do when we look at the messages of our culture today ... look at God's word through and through ... what does it say about Love, Grace, Judgment, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Inclusion and our Calling to live for Him?

 While we at 4832 don't want to  presume we know all the answers, we do want to point to the One who shows us how to live even in these unsettling times.
