Hope
“Hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” Romans 5:5
How are you connecting while maintaining social distance while extending hope to others?
Easter…is behind us…the day that we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection! The day that Alleluia’s ring from our lips…the day that our spirits are bright, and we are renewed in our faith! It is a season of hope shining from within and around us.
But this year, we find ourselves sheltered in place, the number of deaths in the U.S. has now surpassed Italy, it is uncertain how long we will need to stay at a safe distance from one another! Amid this pandemic, our hope goes beyond numbers that are overwhelming and instead to the scriptural facts that are foundational to life! Our hope is, has been and will be in Jesus who said: “I am the resurrection and the life…He who believes in me, though he dies…will live again…John 11:25
Our hope is in Christ…and we continue to cry out…”Father help us” to fight this disease, to reach out to those in need…to see the afflicted and offer grace, mercy and love in the midst of this pandemic that keeps us apart!

How are you connecting while maintaining social distance? Phone calls, video chats? Has your neighborhood developed a system to “check-in” with one another through e-mail? Hanging something in the window? Continue to pray for our leaders, for those in healthcare for the lonely and afflicted to see their hope in Jesus.

Staying focused on the foundational truth of Jesus power important each day
Be still and know that I am God seems to fit the times. Not much that can be said or done that provides a reasonable answer to the questions of why. Media sifts and sifts the same statistics resulting in fewer and fewer answers that satisfy. Willing submission usually does not start as a willing act.
