More Questions Than Answers
Maybe you have all the answers, if so would you share a few with me? When I was a teen ager I thought I could do anything and accomplish anything I wanted, well that didn't quite workout the way I thought. As a young husband I was told "you are to be the head of the household", well I don't what neanderthal came up with that insight but they obviously were not married at that moment of said insight. I used to catch frogs as a child but after living at home that had thousands of frogs all over (kind of what the plague of frogs Moses declared on Egytp must of been like) I don't like them anymore except as deep fried frog legs. I am still amazed by caterpillars spinning a cacoon and becoming beautiful butter flies, not so much with moths.

I am not so sure about change either. There are alot of things I have not changed of my own accord in life. I used to be thinner, I used to have more hair, I used to be stronger, I used to have fewer wrinkles. I use to think my answers were commonly accepted but something has changed.
I used to have a better idea of what right and wrong meant but elements of society now loudly proclaim new meanings.
Maybe the truth is in Psalm 58:3 "Even from birth the wicked go astray, from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies".
Change maybe starts right from birth, why should I be surprised and why should I think everything I thought was right, was taught for so many years would not be questioned over and over again?

Keeping our bearings of right and wrong becomes very challenging, there are a lot of so called "truths" told to us everyday. How do you test what you are hearing and seeing?
In 1 John 4:1 is says "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
One of the things I have recently been studying is the meaning of Greed. I kind of have always connected to pursuit of money, wealth, power. But I have recently became aware of the need for more and more status. The need to be seen as superior to others in my trade, career, etc.. This element of life has been around from the very beginning wth jealousy. In Genesis 3:5 we see how satan used it to tempt saying "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opended and you will be like God, knowing good and evil". Who doesn't want to be just like God, to have that gain?
In Philippians 2:6 we see that Jesus did not pursue equality. It says "Who (Jesus), being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage".
We need to be aware that Greed/Jealousy are vulnerabilities of us all, no one is immune. In Jeremiah 6:13 it says "From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain, prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit".
We don't have all the answers in life, we never will but we do have a source of Truth to rely on. Jesus says "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." in John 14:6. Hold onto that Truth, it will never change.
