Have patience, have patience ...
Colossians 3: 12-14 - Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
When I was younger, there was a song that was one of my favorite from Psalty the Psalm book shows.
"Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry!
Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry,
When you get impatient, you only start to worry
Remember, remember that God is patient, too
And think of all the times when others have to wait for you "

This song has rushed through my mind and memories in the last days. It seems like our country, culture and us as individuals are in a rush to have answers. I can understand all of this and know that the answers will come eventually. However are we ready to hear the answer that we want or may not want? What it seems we are in a rush for is to get the answer that we want. Just this last week I taught a lesson on prayer. In that lesson we explored how God can answer;
He can answer, Yes to the intent of the prayer and Yes to how we requested it.
He can answer, Yes to the intent of the prayer and No to how we requested it.
He can answer, No to the intent of the prayer and Yes to answering through His Will in our life.
He can answer, No to the intent of the prayer and No to how we requested it.
No matter how he answers, He is listening and will answer. I believe this to be true, we have a faithful God who is over all things yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever. So as we wait for answers in our life, turn to Him and have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry!
