Peace in the Storm
Throughout the past week, we have seen an increase in unrest, in emotionally charged encounters between people groups and various responses. Our attention has been shifted from COVID19 and the numbers of persons impacted, sick or dying to the number of cities with violence and unrest. During this tumultuous time of unrest, we are called to see by faith the loving-kindness of our great God. We are called to show mercy and grace, forgiveness, and courage to continue by faith to be at peace with our brothers as much as possible. We are called to humbly pray for all persons impacted whether protesting, standing in uniform, or leading our nation. We seek God’s mercy, grace, and wisdom for such a time as this and continue to live out our life as His holy people.

Today I listened to a favorite hymn rewritten and remixed by Amy Grant. The hymn “It is Well with My Soul” remixed with “The River Keeps on Rollin On,” brought sweet respite to my anxious soul. These words of course well-known stood out…
When peace like a river attends my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll…
Whatever my lot thou has taught me to say
It is well…It is well with my soul!
And then immediately following a reading of Psalm 27:13
I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Create in us a pure heart Lord, renew a steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:4)!
Dear God…we continue to pray for the healing for our land, for all who are hurting, grieving, frustrated, oppressed, scared. We seek your wisdom and guidance as we move forward to carry out the purpose you have for each of us this day! May we be your holy servants to our world.
4832 Ponder... What are you thinking about? Are your thoughts impacting your actions toward others positively?

Interestingly I find others thoughts are effecting mine, mostly negatively, but then I find God turns them to search his thoughts. That gives me a peace I am able to put the negative into perspective of Jesus. Peace beyond understanding
